A native of Richmond, Virginia, Sarah Bruce Kelly lives on the South Carolina coast with her husband, Frank, where she spends her time writing, reading, teaching, and enjoying the sun and surf. 

Her first historical novel, The Red Priest's Annina (2009), has met with international acclaim, and a sequel is in progress. Her second historical novel, Jazz Girl (2010), is based on the turbulent early life of African-American pianist and composer Mary Lou Williams. Her newest  novel Vivaldi's Muse was be released June 2011 and is first-place winner of the Tyler R. Tichelaar Award for Best Historical Fiction.
